The important factors taken into account in a war can be classified in three groups:
Physical factors: This includes all existingabilities such as land forces, artillery, equipment and all tools used in a war.
Non-physical factors:A collection of human characteristics such as courage, fear, wisdom and more.
Superior factors: Factors that are innate and sometimes beyond human will, such as creativity, trust, feelings, talent and artistry.
This article will focus on the third group.
From long ago, provoking emotions and creating excitement has been a commonplace method used in wars.Sometimes nationalistic and ethnic sentimentswould be stimulated and sometimes religious feelings and beliefs. Revolutionary songs and military marches have always played an important role in stimulating soldiers, especially in recent wars. Even during the first days of Islam, chanting epic poems was common before wars.
Some noteworthy points about SadeqAhangaran, who was successful in this field, need to be considered:
1. His personality: In addition to growing up in a religious and revolutionary family, he had his own unique traits.
2. Ahangaran, as an individual from the Revolution’s generation, didn’t just have an active role in the Revolution, but was also intensely influenced by it and gained invaluable experiences.
3. His attractive and clear voice along with his pure emotions that would manifest through singing.
4. Wearing the uniform of the Revolutionary Guards and showing up at the fronts
I knew him before his talent was discovered. Sometimes he would lead congregational prayer instead of theprayer Imam when he was working for the Revolutionary Guards. His unique voice was revealed then.
Holding religious ceremonies and events for martyrs were influential in his growth. His singing and performing during the war was an important factor. His activities turned soldiers’ potential abilities into actual ones and made them show their utmost capability. His work in raising morale is a big deal.
I remember once the war commanders were invited to Mashhad and Ahangaran hosted the ceremony. Later when we wanted to enter the holy shrine, people didn’t show any reaction upon seeing great commanders such as Mohsen Rezaee, SayyadShirazi, Kharrazi, Hemmat, Bakeri and others. But as soon as their eyes met Ahangaran, they rushed toward him.
His influence on the Revolution, before and after the war, is due to his purity and his religious beliefs. His maintaining of his character has played a vital role in his continuing success.
