(Tasnim) – The Israeli regime’s security forces injured dozens of Palestinians who demonstrated in various parts of the occupied territories and the Gaza Strip on Friday in support of hunger-striking prisoners held captive in the Zionist regime’s jails.
Thousands of Palestinian people held the demonstrations in the West Bank and Gaza on Friday in support of Palestinian prisoners of Israeli jails, who have been on hunger strike since April 17, the Arabic-language RT Arabic reported.
More than 70 demonstrators were injured by tear gas, rubber bullets and live fire, according to the report.
Earlier on Thursday, a Palestinian was killed by an Israeli settler who shot at protesters, the Health Ministry of the Palestinian Territories said.
The shooting occurred south of the city of Nablus in the occupied Palestinian West Bank. Hundreds of Palestinians protested near an Israeli military checkpoint at Huwara, when an Israeli settler in a car attempted to drive through the crowd.
Hundreds of Palestinians jailed in Israeli prisons started a mass hunger strike demanding better detention conditions.
A number of international groups and organizations have already expressed solidarity with the prisoners.
